PENGUINS – policies

General guidelines:

  • To keep our water clean and healthy, it is necessary for adults to shower (with soap) before entering the water. Adults willing to immerse themselves should wash their hair before entering the water.
  • Our staff will authorize you to take photos and/or videos, ensuring that the official data protection rules are respected, as per Spanish law. Without the express authorization of our personnel, it is prohibited to make photos and/or videos.
  • Food consumption is only authorized in the cafeteria area, to ensure the perfect hygiene of our facilities.
  • To avoid infections among students in the same class, adults, babies and children with fever or contagious skin infections should not participate in the activities.
  • In the water, for reasons of hygiene and safety is mandatory to use:
    • Swimming caps: for adults and children > 2 years old.
    • Flip-flops or anti-slippery socks
    • Specific “anti-leak” bathing suits (until 3 years old): Penguins will supply before the first class the two anti-leak bathing suits required for hygienic reasons for children below 3 years old. On the first day, 25 euros will be charged in our center, cash or credit card.

Recovery classes for medical reasons:

  • “Make-up classes” are only available for babies’ classes (BABY PENGUINS). Penguins does not offer make-up classes for children older than 2 years old (i.e. White, Blue and Orange Penguins).
  • BABY PENGUINS classes can be “made-up” only when the absence has been previously notified by email/phone.
  • BABY PENGUINS classes can be made-up at those timings: Tuesdays 3:45pm, Wednesdays at 9:20am, or Thursdays at 7:10pm. Please contact reception to book the class, i.e. date and time.
  • Classes can be made-up only when a baby is currently attending the classes. If a family has un-registered (“baja”), there is no possibility to make up the classes.
  • Classes which match an official bank holiday cannot be recovered another day.
  • Classes outside the water (AIPAP, ABC psychomotor skills) can be recovered at another time available, always within the same month.

Monthly fees and other payments:

  • In August, Penguins will be closed, and nothing will be charged to our customers. For all other months, all families/customers will pay the full monthly fee, even in case our center remains closed due to a bank holiday.
  • Classes which match an official bank holiday cannot be recovered another day.
  • To unsubscribe from Penguins, our staff should be notified 15 days before the end of the month.
  • Failure to attend classes at our center does not exempt the payment of the agreed fee.
  • Monthly fees will be billed via direct debit. Payments will be issued monthly, between the 1st and 5th of each month. In case of changes in the bank data/ownership, in order to avoid confusion, please communicate changes at the reception using the SEPA form before the 15th of each month.
  • Enrolment fee(“matrícula”) is paid once only within the same term (i.e the same school year: 01-Sep until 30-July).
    • Customers can unregister for a few months and register again during the same term without paying another enrolment fee.
    • Customers who unregister during one term then register again during the following term, will have to pay another enrolment fee.
  • Maintenance fee: for families who plan in advance not to attend classes during a full month, but who want to keep their current day/hour: Penguins proposes to keep the place during one month, in exchange of a maintenance fee (50% of the normal monthly fee).
